A UK-based Open Source company today announced a major upgrade of its award winning systems monitoring platform to meet the demands of its growing enterprise install base. Opsview Enterprise is already in use by global brands like Harvard University, Allianz and Electronic Arts.
Opsview Enterprise’s latest 3.6 release also sees the availability of the four new modules designed to deliver further enterprise-grade extensibility and scalability. These include automated reports generation using JasperReports, SMS alerts, network auditing and seamless integration with leading service desk platforms such as Service Now and Atlassian JIRA. In addition, Opsview Enterprise customers will get an entirely redesigned interface, major performance improvements, interactive graphing and internationalisation into German and Polish.
Opsview’s already impressive user base has largely developed organically, driven by their popular open source edition. However more recently, the company has experienced growing demand for the commercially available, enterprise edition from organisations such as Trinity Mirror, Plusnet, University of Surrey, Cambridge University Press and the Irish Revenue.
James Peel, Opsview’s Product Manager said: “Now more than ever, our clients must be more efficient at a lower total cost of ownership, and Opsview Enterprise 3.6 delivers best-of-breed network and application monitoring at a fraction of the cost of proprietary alternatives.
“We’re particularly excited about how our clients will start to use Opsview’s new Reports, SMS, network auditing and Service Desk modules.
“The release of 3.5 in November 2009 had a huge impact on our install base. The excellent feedback we received has driven all of the enhancements in 3.6.
“In this version, you will find both improvements in usability and performance, as well as support of leading service desk applications like Service Now and Atlassian JIRA.”
